Since its premiere on March 26 in Netflix, the series Unorthodox has become quite a global phenomenon. This German-American drama series based on the autobiography of the same name by Deborah Feldman Published in 2012, it is the first Netflix series that is filmed mainly in Yiddish, a language spoken by Jews of German origin, which was formed with elements of Hebrew, Old French, High German and northern Italian dialects.

UnorthodoxStarring by Shira Haas, Amit Rahav and Jeff Wilbusch the series features uA Hasidic Jew from Brooklyn who flees to Berlin to escape an arranged marriage and is taken in by a group of musicians. But the past ends up catching up with her.

For the production of this miniseries, its director Maria Schrader I trust digital cinematography camera Venice by Sony. Schrader filmed the main scenes in Berlin with some exteriors filmed in Brooklyn in New York.

For the production, interior sets were built in CCC film studios that synchronized with the exteriors of Brooklyn. Berlin locations include Potsdamer Platz, which served as the setting for the music academy and its surrounding area, and Lake Wannsee (Großer Wannsee).

All interior shots were recorded at the CCC studios in Eiswerder in Spandau, a Reinickendorf and a Palestinian dance hall in Moabit. The Philharmonic's musical instrument museum served as a backdrop for the music conservatory.

Sony's new generation film camera equipped with a full frame sensor, offers excellent color technology and intuitive operation. The ease of use and reliability of the camera are two of the points that most concern operators, especially in demanding recording conditions or with time limitations as has been the case with this production.

Thanks to Venice Schrader was able to focus exclusively on the recording and completely forget about the camera.
