'Apagón', the new Movistar+ series, will feature five directors

The successful fiction podcast titled The great blackout will become a television series Movistar+ produced by Buendía Studios which will consist of five chapters that will be directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Raúl Arévalo, Isa Campo, Alberto Rodríguez and Isaki Lacuesta.

Together with the scripts by Isabel Peña, Alberto Marini, Fran Araújo, Rafael Cobos and Isa Campo and under the creative coordination of Araújo, the fiction will tell the consequences of a solar storm with catastrophic effects on the planet's technology. The series is inspired by The great blackout, the original Podium Podcast podcast (PRISA Audio).

The series proposes a hypothetical solar storm that causes an energy blackout that unleashes chaos in our society. The terrible consequences are unimaginable in a world as interconnected and dependent on technology as ours. The struggle to maintain order and adaptation to the new reality define each of the five stories.

The series will begin filming in December and will premiere on Movistar+ in 2022.
