The 12th Edition of Weird, International Animation Market, Video Games and New Media, previously called 3D Wire, will be held in Segovia from September 28 to October 4.

The International Animation Market, Video Games and New Media, WEIRD, will celebrate its 12th edition between the September 28 and October 4 in Segovia. Its director, José Luis Farias, highlights the result of the same that "summarize in just one character what Weird is, both for attendees and for us. We will call him Mr. Weird!"

The poster concentrates the essence of this event that aims to be a point of dialogue and exchange between creators, producers, communication channels, sector professionals and future talents. Next to the colorful main character of the design, various animated cubes appear; Emblems of this forum from its origins, in addition to being its iconic trophies.

The appointment counts from this year with a New denomination: Weird (previously known as 3D Wire). An evolution that expands its horizons; With the focus on animation, video games and New Media, it now opens its doors to new sectors such as board games or comics to be able to respond to the reality of the sector. A new name that hosts new proposals, projects and IPS, generating a meeting point and thermometer of trends of the future both for professional and amateur public.

The sign of the 12th edition of Weird is a work of Mr. Klaus. A Spanish animation study that was born in 2015 and is based in Madrid. His work team specializes in the creation of quality content for the animation and video game industry.

Among its client portfolio is companies, producers and international size channels such as Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Anima Kitchent, Canal+ Junior, El Ranchito, BRB International, IgG, Supercell; And their professional abilities have traveled through territory as diverse as China, the United States, Singapore, Canada, Finland, Mexico, United Kingdom or Argentina, among others.

Project call

This new edition has officially opened its project calls. The contest will receive until July 24 projects in five different sections: animation and video games, transmedia, webseries, board games and comics.

The call for animation and video game projects is directed for another year as a cultural bridge, thanks to its LusoEspañol scope. For its part, the category of European Transmedia projects remains a great continental reference on new trends, while the International Animation Web Serms keeps Network atom as its main collaborator.

This year there are two new calls aimed at European Table Games and European Comics Projects. In addition, RTVE, Movistar+ and the Annecy Festival, continue as collaborators granting various awards such as the Shout Movistar+ Project Award, RTVE Awards and Vr video game more innovative and Annecy-Mifa Award for the best series Creator's best series project.

The five calls have as Deadline on July 24.

On the other hand, the registration period of short films and video clips is maintained until June 25. The works sent may become part of the Weird catalog (with about 200 works, together with contact data to facilitate its distribution and sale) or be selected in the Weird Festival - International Festival of Animation Short Films, which in its eighth edition will have two official sections again at competition: national and international.
