Ventura Durall will preside over the association of documentary producers ProDocs

The Nanouk Films producer takes over from the Inicia Films producer, Valérie Delpierre, now vice president of PROA.

This Thursday, July 2, 2020, the association of documentary producers ProDocs, in an assembly held online, has unanimously voted for the election of Ventura Durall, producer of Nanouk Films, as the new president of the entity, who takes over the production company of Start Films, Valérie Delpierre, now vice president of BOW, Federated Audiovisual Producers and representative of the documentary specialty at the Film Academy.

In the candidacy presented, Ventura Durall expresses the purpose of positioning the documentary in “the place that we believe it deserves, to be able to express its potential in all its different forms and manifestations.” The main vector of action that it proposes is to continue influencing from the association in dialogue with public television, but also, work to achieve dialogue, increasingly important, with the different platforms.

The new president of ProDocs, during the assembly, defended the need to strengthen the associative fabric, to “manage to grow the feeling of community among all those who make documentaries.” In this sense, Durall states that ProDocs will have to work to achieve fertile ground that brings out synergies and interactions between production companies.

The candidacy presented and headed by Ventura Durall, configures a new Board of Directors formed by Ayuso's expenses (JWProductions), as Vice President; Bernat Manzano (Boogaloo Films), as treasurer; and Belen Sanchez (Un Capricho de Producciones), as secretary. Also, the appointments of the new vowels of the work commissions, which will become part of the Board directly: Valérie Delpierre (Inicia Films) as a member of the Commission of Institutions; Anna Giralt (Gusano Films) como vocal de la Comisión de comunicación; and Oriol Gispert (La Lupa produccions) as a member of the Action Commission, which renews its mandate.

The ProDocs association is part of PROA, Productos Audiovisuals Federats, together with ProAnimats (animation), ProFicció (fiction), ProTV (television), Devicat (video games), APAIB (Balearic Islands) and AVANT (Valencian Community).
