Ross joins SRT Alliance to expand open source development of SRT protocol
With more than 400 members, the SRT Alliance's mission is to overcome the challenges of low-latency live streaming through the use of Open Source SRT (Secure Reliable Transport).
Ross Video has been incorporated into the SRT Alliance, the open source initiative dedicated to overcoming the challenges of low-latency video streaming.
The SRT Alliance, founded by Haivision As of April 2017, it already has more than 400 members. Its mission is to overcome the challenges of low latency live streaming supporting the collaborative development of SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) Open Source, the open source streaming project originally developed and promoted by Haivision that enables the delivery of high-quality, secure, low-latency video over the public Internet.
Ross Video CTO Troy English comments that the company "is very pleased to join the SRT Alliance and contribute to its work addressing the challenges around high-performance, low-latency, secure and reliable transmission over the public Internet. We have had interest from our customers in integrating SRT with our product portfolio and are actively developing these capabilities."
