Adobe closes an agreement to purchase Workfront
The $1.5 billion acquisition of the marketing firm will add more than 3,000 customers to the Adobe Experience Cloud solutions portfolio.
Adobe announced this Tuesday, November 10, that it has closed a definitive agreement to buy Workfront in an operation valued at about 1.5 billion dollars. Based in Lehi (Utah, USA), Workfront develops project management and work management software web-based including enterprise work management, issue tracking, document management time tracking and portfolio management.
Anil Chakravarthy, executive vice president and general manager of the Digital Experience Business and Worldwide Field Operations division at Adobe, said that the company “is an irrefutable leader in content creation and management, delivery and monitoring as a trusted ally for the world's digital leaders.”
“The combination of Adobe and Workfront will accelerate our leadership in customer experience management, delivering a pioneering solution that covers the entire lifecycle of digital experiences, from design to activation and monitoring,” he adds.
For its part, Alex Shootman, CEO of Workfront, assures that "Adobe and Workfront share a common affinity for helping modernize marketing efforts in a constantly changing and increasingly demanding landscape. We are excited to join Adobe and believe that this is a very great opportunity for our allies and clients."
Following the completion of the purchase, Workfront CEO Alex Shootman will continue to lead the Workfront team, reporting to Anil Chakravarthy, executive vice president and general manager of Digital Experience Business and Worldwide Field Operations.
