German service provider PVSC selects Harmonic cloud platform
Harmonic's VOS 360 platform enables efficient global delivery of personalized live video content.
The German company Primary Video Stream Contribution (PVSC) has selected the fully managed cloud platform from Harmonic for video distribution.
Running in the public cloud, the VOS 360 Channel Creation and Distribution Platform from Harmonic enables PVSC to deliver live video content globally over the Internet for greater efficiency, agility and personalization of content per delivery point.
Ralf Heublein, from PVSC, notes that "we wanted a simpler and faster way to deliver live feeds to cable operators across Europe and the rest of the world. Harmonic's cloud-based VOS360 platform expands our reach and future-proofs our core distribution workflow."
“At any time, we can instantly add more pickup and delivery points, resulting in greater flexibility and functionality provided by the VOS360 platform,” he adds.
Harmonic's VOS360 platform leverages CDNs to accelerate the primary distribution of linear channels from affiliated broadcasters to PVSC's delivery partners, which include cable and telecom operators. With the VOS360 platform, PVSC can grant or revoke access, manage outages, and customize live content from the cloud for each operator.
Ian Graham, senior vice president of global sales and video services at Harmonic, says, "Cloud-based delivery is a reliable and flexible alternative to primary distribution, connecting PVSC-affiliated broadcasters with cable and telecom operators anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Using our VOS360 platform, PVSC can now easily and quickly scale to power additional feeds for primary distribution."
