Discovery presents Discovery+, its new global streaming service that will arrive in Spain in 2021
The new OTT platform will arrive next year in more than 25 countries around the world, including Italy, Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain.
Discovery has announced the launch of Discovery+, its new global streaming service, which next year will reach more than 25 countries around the world, including Italy, Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Poland and Spain.
Discovery+ will include 55,000 episodes of programs about adventure, science, technology, crime, investigation, mysteries, natural world, people, cars, history... and will try to compete with other OTT platforms in an increasingly saturated market.
Among the content that the platform will offer we will find content such as Animal Planet, Discovery Science, HGTV, Travel Channel, ID, Food Network, DIY, Discovery Channel, Motortrend or TLC.
David Zaslav, CEO of Discovery, acknowledges that "maybe some of the scripted films and series are the preferred type of material on the red carpet, but more than 50% of what people see is our material. We are unique."
Discovery+ has already launched in India, the United Kingdom and Ireland and will be available on January 4, 2021 in the United States. Throughout 2021 it will reach 25 countries around the world.
