Grass Valley approaches a future defined by cloud and software with a crucial transformation that includes a strategic plan designed to enhance your capability as a media technology solutions provider.

A strategic review of Grass Valley as a stand-alone company identified changes in customer purchasing patterns from hardware to software solutions.

Over the past year, Grass Valley has accelerated its deployment of cloud-based, software-enabled solutions based on strategy GV Media Universe. With new proposals, such as GV AMPP (the Agile Media Processing Platform), the company can uniquely solve many of its clients' challenges, such as monetizing assets in an increasingly digital world, introducing flexible operating models and managing complexity across the content supply chain. Additionally, the elastic and distributed nature of the cloud enables new usage models, new remote production capabilities, and lower deployment/integration costs.

Grass Valley's transformation will include key steps in three fundamental areas: the creation of Centers of Excellence, the optimization of the manufacturing efficiency and the rationalization of its real estate.

Grass Valley is expanding its new product development capabilities by building the industry's most advanced cloud solutions development team. To this end, the company will open a new Grass Valley Center of Excellence in Krakow, Poland, and expand its current team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. When combined with its current CoE in Montreal, Canada, this expansion gives Grass Valley three geographically dispersed CoEs.

To optimize manufacturing efficiency, Grass Valley will consolidate hardware manufacturing capabilities across its product portfolio. The company will also improve business efficiency by streamlining and reducing the total number of facilities it operates, keeping customer-facing resources close to where its customers work and live, and allowing its teams to work remotely. The workforce and real estate transformation has begun and is expected to be complete by the end of 2022.
