José Manuel González Pacheco, new general management director of Secuoya Studios

The expert in development operations management, corporate diversification and digital strategies will coordinate the different areas of the group's new entertainment, fiction and film division.

Sequoia Group takes another step in the consolidation of the management team of Secuoya Studios, its entertainment, fiction and film production company, with the incorporation of José Manuel González Pacheco, an expert in digital and business strategy management with extensive experience in the audiovisual industry.

The new general management director of Secuoya Studios will coordinate the areas of the studio (fiction, film, entertainment and production services and incentives), both among themselves and with the rest of the group and the team that he leads from the United States. James Costos, president of Secuoya Studios. Likewise, it will be responsible for the development and diversification of its businesses in new activities (distribution, services to production companies...) and at an international level. His experience in the design of corporate development and diversification strategies and operations, as well as his extensive background as head of content, platforms and digital projects will be key in achieving the most ambitious and relevant audiovisual project at the start of 2021.

Long professional career

José Manuel González Pacheco began his professional career in 1989 as a consultant to media and technology companies at the firms Arthur Andersen and Deloitte before joining in October 2004 as strategy director of Antena 3, where he participated in the design of its organic development strategies and purchase, merger and corporate diversification operations.

In March 2010, José Manuel was appointed general director of Atresmedia Digital, being responsible for the digital content, platforms and monetization of the Atresmedia group for seven years, a period in which he promoted the birth and growth of platforms such as Atresplayer and Flooxer and was responsible for the business of digital properties and social networks of the Group's media and activities. Since 2017, Pacheco has participated in the founding and management of digital content production companies for brands and in the business development of programmatic advertising startups for OTT, with his most recent role being the General Management Directorate of the audiovisual production company Mediacrest Entertainment.

Lastly, it should be noted that Secuoya began the consolidation of the division's structure last spring with the signing of David Martinez, head of the fiction area. The renowned professional incorporated a broad portfolio of stories made up of 20 projects in development, several literary adaptations and a large co-production with Hollywood, which are in different phases of development and of which we hope to provide more details in a few weeks.
