The financing comes after the success of its Artificial Intelligence services platform presented in July and the signing of agreements with important multinationals, such as the PRISA Noticias group, among others.

Sherpa.ai, a company specialized in Artificial Intelligence (AI) services, has closed a round of $8.5 million financing, which responds to the objective of accelerating its growth and the company's arrival in Europe and the rest of the world.

The potential of the new Artificial Intelligence platform launched by Sherpa.ai a few months ago, together with the agreements signed for the use of its AI services, have encouraged the company's already investors such as Marcelo Gigliani (Managing Partner de Apax Digital), Alex Cruz (Chairman of British Airways) and World Ventures to increase its capital, but it has also attracted new ones, such as contribution.

Recently, the strategic alliance between Sherpa.ai and the group was made public RUSH news (EL PAÍS, AS, CincoDías and Huffington post in Spanish) for the use of the Sherpa.ai AI platform and thanks to this technology improve their results and customer satisfaction.

In addition to the PRISA group, the company points out that it has already closed new agreements with multinationals and that these new agreements for the use of its technology will soon be announced.

In July, Sherpa.ai launched the world's leading AI services platform, which was presented at Sherpa.ai Keynote 2020.

The platform covers three areas of Artificial Intelligence, AI applied to data privacy, being the most complete platform on the market for data privacy. For example, in security, biometrics or the health sector, allowing progress in the diagnosis and cure of diseases without sharing private patient data.

IA of recommendation and prediction, allows companies such as media outlets, digital content companies or companies in the retail sector to have the ability to personalize content and make recommendations to users about products or services that fit their tastes and preferences. This technology also has applications with a lot of impact in the industry, for example, in predictive maintenance and even in energy efficiency; or in any process they wish to improve. Conversational AI, for example, so that different companies can use Sherpa.ai technology to make their products, cars, machines, applications or websites work with a personalized assistant through voice.

New additions

To achieve this and to compete with the large multinationals in the sector, the Basque company is betting on the signing of top-level profiles to complete the team. A few months ago, the incorporation of Celestino Garcia, former corporate vice president at Samsung, as vice president of business development at Sherpa.ai. García joined a team that includes other great talents, such as Tom Gruber, founder and former CTO of Siri, and Joanna Hoffman, who was marketing director at Apple and considered Steve Jobs' right-hand man.
