Isona Passola, producer, director and President of the Catalan Cinema Academy, will receive the Honor Award of the BCN Film Fest Fest the next April 15 during the opening ceremony of the contest. Passola will receive the award in recognition of her work at the head of the Academy over the last eight years and as a producer of films such as Bye Black o Uncertain Glory.

Born in Barcelona in 1953, Passola is the founder of Gold Productions, with which he has produced films such as Bye Black (9 Goya awards, 13 Gaudí awards), Incertain Glory (8 Gaudí awards), As children, The pianist o The Sea, and documentaries that he has also directed such as Catalonia-Spain o The next day.

Passola is also the first female president of the Ateneu Barcelonès, is part of the National Council of Culture and the Arts (CoNCA), and is a professor at the Blanquerna Communication Faculty of the Ramon Llull University.

The fifth edition of the BCN Film Fest will be held between April 15 and 23 at Verdi cinemas and will include a total of 60 titles from 24 countries distributed in the six sections of the contest. Four of them will be world premieres, one international, three European, 17 Spanish and seven Catalan. The festival will comply with all health and safety measures, as well as the maximum capacity established by law at the time of its celebration.
