HBO Max is working on 100 original productions for Latin America

The video on demand platform HBO Max prepares its landing in Latin America next June with the announcement of a hundred original productions.

33 of these productions are already underway and will be exclusive for HBO Max under the brand Max Originals. Among these works are fiction series, films, documentaries, specials and reality shows such as Bunker (Mexico), action comedy; Moorings (Mexico), contemporary romantic and family drama; Rooster days (Argentina), youth drama and musical; either The Absent (Brazil), drama series that tells the story of an agency that deals with missing people.

New confirmed stories

Beyond these previously known formats, HBO Max has confirmed two new originals. Bilardo, the football doctor (Argentina), is a four-episode documentary series that will feature the testimony of the most relevant figures in Argentina and soccer itself. Besides, Frankelda's hidden scares (Mexico) is an anthology of horror stories for children in stop-motion created by Ghost Cinema, a specialized and recognized study in this technique.

Tomas Yankelevich, Chief Content Officer of WarnerMedia Latin America, details the platform's strategy: "With HBO Max we present a new and superior platform that is committed to telling the best stories, generating experiences and emotions for our audience in Latin America. Currently, we are working on productions that cover a wide variety of genres and formats, with local stories of all kinds, reinforcing our commitment to local communities, with great Latin American talent and definitely with our audiences, and this is just the beginning."

HBO Max will arrive in Latin America and the Caribbean in June 2021 with content from brands such as HBO, DC Universe, Warner Bros. y Cartoon Network.
