DI4D launches HMC, 4D facial capture system

After several years of development, DI4D has launched HMC, a facial capture system optimized for 4D and compatible with third-party software.

The DI4D HMC Equips a pair of high-quality 4 MP stereo cameras and a precise focus adjustment mechanism. On the other hand, it integrates an LED lighting panel that provides uniform lighting to the actor's face. Synchronization of the lighting system with the capture system reduces glare to which the subject is exposed.

At the same time, the DI4D HMC allows an opening of F/2,5, to offer a better depth of focus; short exposure, with the aim of minimizing motion blur; and low gain, thus reducing image noise. On the other hand, its function wireless synchronization Continuous streaming makes it possible for multiple HMCs to remain synchronized to the master timecode at up to 60 fps.

Versatility and lightness

The DI4D HMC's flexible open headband-based design provides a “comfortable” fit for actors, while the armrest carbon fiber offers chamber rigidity and stability. For its part, its quick release cable tension system allows the helmets to be removed and put on quickly and repeatedly. The rechargeable battery provides up to 3 hours of operation continuous wireless and is interchangeable, to ensure the minimum possible interruptions during filming.

As it could not be otherwise, the software DI4Dlive facilitates remote control of multiple DI4D HMCs in the production environment. Provides a number of features to speed up the process of configuring HMCs for multiple interpreters and across multiple sessions. Additionally, it simplifies the process of Monitoring, recording, reviewing and managing multiple shots across multiple DI4D HMCs.
