The Alicante Film Festival presents the keys to its 18th edition in Madrid

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences de España, ubicada en Madrid, ha acogido la presentación de la 18ª edición del Alicante Film Festival (29/05-05/06).

La presentación, enmarcada en los actos de FEATURE, ha contado con la presencia de dos de las personalidades que serán homenajeadas por el certamen este año: Kiti Manver, que recibirá el Honor Award durante el Festival; e Inma Cuesta, a la que se otorgará el Premio Ciudad de Alicante.

Ambas se sumarán a la también reconocida Isabel Coixet en la gala inaugural, que acontecerá el 29 de mayo in it ADDA de Alicante. Durante la semana, se proyectarán las ocho películas de la Sección Oficial que compiten por el máximo galardón, la Tesela of Oro. Three winners

At the presentation ceremony, Mari Carmen Sánchez, vice mayor of Alicante, highlighted that it is the first time that the three winners are women, something she describes as “a well-deserved tribute to the role of women in Spanish cinema.”

Both Others Maneuver as Inma Cuesta They have been very grateful to the organization of the contest and to the city during printing. Maneuver, “very honored” by the recognition, has highlighted the diversity of sections in the festival and celebrates that the event can be held due to “the hardships that many colleagues and the profession itself are experiencing.” Cuesta, who will attend the appointment for the first time, hopes that this step will allow us to “recover the long-awaited normality” in order to “recover my life.”

A city overturned

Vicente Seve, director of the festival, wanted to highlight in his speech how Alicante will become the maximum reference of Spain regarding cinema during the celebration of the event: “These are days in which you can breathe cinema and culture throughout the city, but there is also music and other activities that complete a program for all audiences and tastes.”

In the presentation, they also wanted to cover the Alicante Film Festival the actors Armando del Río y Luis Miguel Seguí; the actresses Marta Belenguer y Rebeca Sala; el cineasta Ramón Margareto (Premio Goya al mejor cortometraje documental 2011); el director de 75 días, la película inaugural del Festival que trata sobre los crímenes de Alcásser, Marc Romero; y el director de casting y miembro de jurado, Amado Cruz.
