Fermín Crespo and Enrique Seva sign agreement between Alicante Film Festival - Ciudad de la Luz

City of Light and Alicante Film Festival (May 18 to 25, 2024) have reached an agreement to promote these reborn film studios ahead of the next edition of the contest.

The general director of the Society of Projects for Digital Transformation (SPTD) and Ciudad de la Luz, Fermin Crespo and the director of the Alicante International Film Festival, Vicente Seva, have signed this alliance which, among other initiatives, includes the presentation of the 'City of Light' Award at the closing gala and the visit of guests and honorees to the Alicante studios.

Likewise, among other aspects, it includes the holding of a meeting within the 6th Fiction Projects Laboratory with production companies and platforms in the facilities of the Alicante audiovisual complex.

Ciudad de la Luz will also be present throughout the entire event with the screening of its latest spot at the opening and closing galas, as well as at the presentation in Madrid of the Alicante Film Festival at the TAI University School of Arts and prior to the screening of the official section films in cinemas.

For Crespo, this agreement will help “achieve synergies” that will advance “in three directions: The first is to take advantage of the fact that great personalities from the cinema and audiovisual world are here so that they know that the facilities are up and running and in perfect condition. The second is to excite the people who are close to the audiovisual sector, that we have an industry underway and that it can be an opportunity for them, and the third is a more question of the future, the possibility of having, in a few years, a center of attraction for the film market.”

On the other hand, Seva considers "collaborating with Ciudad de la luz is an opportunity for everyone, since we support such an important project, we show the students of our Project Laboratory and the entire industry that gathers during the Festival week the facilities and the work we do from Alicante. We all gain visibility within the industry and we open new opportunities for collaboration and work."

Ciudad de la Luz are the “only studios in all of Europe” that allow indoor, outdoor and aquatic filming in the same area. It has 6 sets, three production support buildings, workshops and warehouses, outdoor filming areas, as well as a large outdoor water tank for aquatic filming, and two other water pits located inside the sets themselves, among other rooms and services. The venue was reborn after an extensive period of inactivity and complications with European policies at the end of 2022, as Antonio Rodés addressed in an article in Panorama Audiovisual.
