Ángel García Castillejo, appointed director of International Audiovisual Policy of RTVE
RTVE continues to add additions. The public entity has just confirmed that Ángel García Castillejo will occupy the position of director of International Audiovisual Policy.
The lawyer, advisor and expert in the audiovisual and communications sector will direct this area to which RTVE wants to give an important boost under the presidency of José Manuel Pérez Tornero. The position of Garcia Castillejo will depend organically on the direction of Education, Diversity, Culture and International who leads Ignacio Elguero.
Doctor of Law from the Unit and Doctor in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, García Castillejo has a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has extensive professional experience in the communication environment, both in Telecommunications Market Commission (CMT), as in the Presidency of the Government and in the Parliament.
Outstanding professional career
Currently, García Castillejo held the position of managing partner of MEL Lawyers. In addition, he served as a professor of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication at the Carlos III University of Madrid, of Advertising and Intellectual Property Law at the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication of the Ramón Llull University of Barcelona, and the University Master's Degree in Telecommunications Law, Data Protection, Audiovisual and Information Society.
From 2004 to 2005 he was advisor to the Secretary of State for Communication of the Ministry of the Presidency. He has been general secretary of the Association for the Self-Regulation of Commercial Communication 'Autocontrol' (2003-2004) and between 1997-2003 he held different management positions in the Telecommunications Market Commission.
For the last decade, he has been a consultant to the World Bank for projects related to audiovisual sector and telecommunications, communications consultant for the Andean Community and expert of the International Telecommunication Union for projects related to television regulation in different countries.
