With a script signed by Laura Sarmiento (Crematorium, Isabel, The Zone, Diablero, Intimacy), The boss It is the story of the poisoned relationship between two strong, independent women who are aware of being alone in the world: Beatriz, the boss, who has apparently achieved everything she set out to do in life; and Sofía, his employee, who believes she is willing to do whatever it takes to earn the life she believes she deserves.

Fran Torres acknowledges that “the first thing that immediately seduced me about the script of The boss, was the richness and precision of the portrait of the two protagonists, Beatriz, the Spanish boss, and Sofía, the immigrant employee, and how their relationship condenses many of the tensions present today in our society: classism, ultra-liberalism, feminism, surrogacy... they are present in the film from the first minute. lto throw manages to condense all these tensions present in the current public debate in the relationship between these two women without falling into commonplaces. That is another of the great virtues of the script: both protagonists are unpredictable, they do not fit into any of the predefined patterns in which fiction often encapsulates female characters.”

International sales of the film are handled by Film Factory and will be distributed in Spain by Filmax.
