The Shotgun - TV3 - La Drecera

The tragicomedy The shrapnel, initiative of TV3 and La Drecera Produccions, has begun filming in Cerdanyola del Vallès.

The shrapnel It is presented promising a new approach to the treatment of the Spanish civil war from Catalan audiovisuals, offering a “brave and self-critical look.” The work, initially created for theater by Joan Pera, has a script and direction by Jordi Roigé. Joan Pera and Roger Pera (as Father Joan and Metralla, respectively), protagonists of the work, will be accompanied by Mercè Pons (Pepeta) and Cristina Brondo (Aurora).

The first scenes are already being recorded in Cerdanyola del Vallés, location where most of the film will be shot. However, production will be completed in the surroundings of Barcelona's Old City.

Synopsis from El Metralla

The film tells the relationship of a father and a POUM militiaman hiding in an attic, in the center of Barcelona, ​​during much of the Civil War, and how hatred, suspicion and differences disappear over the months.

This describes more broadly TV3 the plot of the film: "During the Spanish Civil War, the communist and anarchist militias of Barcelona began repression and murders against businessmen and religious people. One day Paco el Shrapnel shows up again in the attic, but now with the intention of staying. The POUM militants are persecuted by those of the PSUC, all of them communists, but political rivals on the same side. The situation becomes tragicomic. The priest and the communist divide the space and "They are willing to spend a good part of the war sharing a few square meters in hiding. Pepeta becomes the true arbiter and moral leader of the group, who must try to take care of them."
