Nagra - Streaming Multiplataforma - JEA

The video provider Jackson Energy Authority (JEA) has trusted Nagra to launch E+ Premier, an IP-based multi-screen video streaming service.

The new service is supported by the video platform Nagra OpenTV and in the cloud streaming solution VOS360 of Harmonic. E+ Premier It will offer local and national content, live and on demand, for viewing on connected consumer devices. The platform includes the processing and delivery of signals in formats MPEG2, MPEG4 and Adaptive Bitrate (ABR), giving JEA and its end-end customers the ability to continue serving legacy set-top customers and offer new advanced application-based broadband services to customers who want it.

Management tools

Secured by protection DRM industry standard that is specific to each device, E+ Premier includes a content management system with advanced subscriber and service management capabilities made possible by the web-based operator console of the NAGRA OpenTV video platform. The console allows the distributor to adapt local services and offer competitive offers with advanced content control options that are configurable for each operator based on each channel.

Ben Lovins, SVP of JEA's telecommunications division, highlights that their new platform allows them to “bundle our Internet and managed WiFi services with a “hyperlocal” personalized video product and a cutting-edge customer experience.” On the other hand, Xavier Fustagueras, SVP Americas at NAGRA, states that “by offering this solution as a managed headend service, without costly upfront investments in hardware or transcoding, JEA's solution enables its headend management clients to provide the advanced services that customers want, while maintaining a local service approach.”
