Tenerife hosts the filming of 'Matar Cangrejos', the new film by Tourmalet Films
Director Omar Al Abdul Razzak (Paradiso, The calm storm) shoots his debut film in Tenerife Kill Crabs, a production of Tourmalet Films.
The film takes place in Tenerife in the 90s and tells the story of two brothers. Rayco (Agustín Díaz), 7 years old, is fascinated by the arrival of Michael Jackson to the island, and by a hermit who lives in a cave facing the sea. Paula (Paula Campos), 13, faces her grandmother's imminent eviction by wandering through abandoned hotels on the coast. The distribution of Kill Crabs It is completed with Sigrid Ojel and non-professional actors from the island of Tenerife.
Kill Crabs, production of Tourmalet Films in co-production with Ice Water Films (Netherlands), participated in the Screenwriting Laboratory of the SGAE Foundation, in the second edition of La Incubadora (The Screen) of the ECAM and in the first edition of the Match Me! program of the Locarno International Film Festival.
The film is financed by the ICAA, Government of the Canary Islands, TEA Cabildo de Tenerife, MEDIA Europa Creativa and with the participation of the Canarian Television. Distribution is in charge of Filmax.
