The Netflix subscription in Spain already includes video games
The video on demand platform Netflix has begun offering a selection of video games through its Android application.
The company has clarified that it is still in a very early phase of the development of this initiative, while anticipating that in the near future there will be a important selection of new titles. The first five games available in Spain, which dispense with ads and payments within the app, are Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, Teeter Up, Stranger Things: 1984 y Stranger Things 3.
Netflix will bet heavily on video games in the coming years. In fact, the company has just confirmed the acquisition of the video game studio Night School Studio, which rose to fame for its first game, the narrative adventure Oxenfree, in 2014. As they have anticipated Sean Krankel y Adam Hines, founders of the studio, over the next few years will continue to “work with developers from around the world and hire the best professionals” with the goal of “building a fabulous collection of exclusive designer games for gamers of all classes and levels.”
