Atomos Connect

The team of atoms returns to Amsterdam to participate in IBC 2022 focusing its presence on the new range of Connect devices and Atomos Cloud Studio services, including Atomos Capture to Cloud and Atomos Stream.

In addition to a new category of devices, the introduction of a new cloud strategy and new partnerships, Atomos has recently confirmed the appointment of Trevor Elbourne as new CEO.

Since its launch in early 2021, Frame.io Camera (C2C) It has been used by over four thousand productions to share footage directly from the set with remote crew members. Conventional workflows require a significant amount of media movement, which must be managed proactively to ensure that material is tracked, backed up, and delivered to all the correct locations.

This entire process is risky, expensive and time-consuming and ultimately places a considerable burden on production teams. The C2C workflow skips several of these steps and provides a direct path for production to send media directly to post-production teams. Media is transferred from C2C certified devices wherever they are located over standard network connections to the cloud, for viewing, approval and editing.

As to Shogun Connect y Atomos Connect to Ninja V and Ninja V+, now include support for C2C workflows. This means that an unprecedented number of digital cinema, mirrorless and DSLR cameras can now deliver media directly from production to post-production. With Atomos and C2C every filmmaker, broadcaster and content producer has the opportunity to accelerate their workflow, collaborate in real time and support remote team members, regardless of location, budget or camera.

Zato Connect

The latest addition to the Connect product range is Zato Connect, a new device that offers support for HDMI and USB UVC sources. Currently, it can be used to switch between two sources, overlay graphics, record the edited show, as well as stream to platforms such as Facebook Live, Twitch, YouTube and custom RTMP destinations, with a v10.02.00 software update arriving very soon.

It is worth noting that in a future update to Zato Connect that will be shown at IBC, the Atomos solution will add integrated picture-in-picture (PiP) in combination with graphical overlay support.

Finally, as Atomos expands the functionality of the product range and adds services to Atomos Cloud Studio New creative opportunities and workflows emerge. For example, the Zato Connect is a great device that addresses a gap in the existing market for an affordable streaming device, but another side is revealed when used in conjunction with the Ninja Cast. Together, the devices form a complete solution for switching and streaming multi-camera productions. Ninja Cast supports up to 4 HDMI sources and offers both touch screen and physical buttons. Its output can be formatted and transmitted by Zato Connect without the need for an auxiliary computer or specialized software.
