Onza closes an agreement with Maite Bulgari's production company

The Spanish producer Onza (The Ministry of Time, Little Coincidences, Parot y Hernan) y Garbo Productions, the audiovisual company of businesswoman Maite Bulgari (Inspector Coliandro, The Red Door e The silence of the water), have signed a strategic industrial alliance with the acquisition of a stake in Maite Bulgari's holding company in Onza.

Onza will thus reinforce its growth in Europe, Latin America and internationally, in particular through the development of joint projects with Maite Bulgari's Italian companies: Garbo Productions y Anthos.

The founding partners of Onza, José María Irisarri, Gonzalo Sagardía y Nicolas Bergareche, will remain shareholders and will continue to direct the company. Maite Bulgari, Raul Ballestero y Stefano Torrisi They will join as new members of the board of directors.

The president of Onza, José María Irisarri, has been very excited "with the entry of the audiovisual group led by Maite Bulgari into the shareholding of Onza. It means opening a new stage of growth in which we share the strategic vision and ambition of producing the best content in Spanish-speaking markets and in related territories such as Italy, where Maite has a great team of executives led by Stefano Torrisi."

The growth objectives that the new partners have identified are the joint production and distribution of content for Spain, Italy and Latin America. Onza has been active in the United States since 2021 through its subsidiary Onza Américas, LLC, a company that currently produces a drama series for Vix+ and a podcast series for Spotify in Latam, in addition to having several orders for the development of new television series for other clients.

Founded in 2014 by José María Irisarri, Nicolás Bergareche and Gonzalo Sagardía, Onza produces fiction series, entertainment programs and documentaries for the main television operators and streaming platforms throughout the Spanish-speaking world. Over the years, the company has been able to attract the best talent to develop and produce successful shows, and has built a unique experience in providing production services for international clients in Spain, by combining the use of local tax incentives and the talent of highly qualified production teams.

For its part, Garbo Productions is an independent production company created in 2017 and founded by Maite Bulgari. The company has always been committed to the conception and production of a wide catalog of television series, docu-series and high-quality entertainment products, with original and third-party content, aimed at the Italian and international public. Garbo has recently opened a new branch in Spain, Garbo Stories, to promote international projects.
