María González Veracruz, new Secretary of State for Telecommunications
In the Council of Ministers this Tuesday, he appointed the Murcian socialist politician María González Veracruz as the new Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, a position in which she replaces Roberto Sánchez.

Born in Murcia, in 1979, she has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Murcia. After four years of research in Molecular Genetics at the University of Murcia, also at the Institute of Biochemistry of Leipzig (Germany), she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Research with a Bachelor's thesis, several publications and the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Molecular Genetics of Fungi.
From 2011 to 2019, she was a national deputy, being technology spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group during the 10th legislature, and science and innovation spokesperson during the 12th Legislature.
Among other responsibilities, he was a member of the PSOE leadership from 2008 to 2016, being federally responsible for technology, science and innovation of the different executive commissions:
From 2014-2016, she was secretary of science, participation and online politics. From 2012-2014, secretary of participation, networks and innovation. And from 2008-2012, secretary of innovation and new technologies.
She is currently a secondary school teacher, specializing in Physics and Chemistry, in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia. She is also an advisor to the Center for Industrial Technological Development.
