Pilar Miró, honored by RTVE on the 25th anniversary of her death

RTVE will remember Pilar Miró, the first woman to head the General Directorate of Cinematography and RTVE, and winner of two Goya awards, with a special programming.

To pay tribute to the life and work of the filmmaker, who died on October 19, 1997 RTVE has promoted special programming on RTVE Play in which its two most awarded films stand out: The manger dog y Beltenebros. Furthermore, the platform has prepared a special collection con documentaries, reports and works of Study 1 directed by her and has recovered in high quality some of the series she directed, such as The Christ of La Vega, Silence, The Vanity Fair Little Dorrit, Eugenia de Montijo, Those who have no peace y The Ballad of King Gaspar. He also directed five episodes of the legendary Curro Jimenez, which is available on RTVE Play.

On the other hand, next Thursday the 20th, at 7:00 p.m., the Film Academy will dedicate to Pilar Miro an event that can be followed live on RTVE Play. In it, the film will be presented The manger dog and will be projected About them, the RTVE Play documentary about the role of women in cinema and which has the participation of Anna Castillo, Inma Cuesta, Belén Cuesta, Carmen Machi, Carla Simón, Marisa F. Armenteros, Pilar Palomero, Alauda Ruíz de Azúa and María Zamora. The project also contains a tribute from all of them to Pilar Miro.

Apart from this event, informative and current affairs programs of RTVE On the anniversary date, they will remember cinema and the figure of Pilar Miró, pioneer of the audiovisual sector in Spain.
