The Japanese MBS selects TVU Networks transmitters and receivers for its live broadcasts

TVU delivered the TVU One live video streaming system to Japanese broadcasting giant Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS), in Osaka, for his video production.

MBS is using multiple mobile transmitters and transceivers TV One for live news and sports coverage, both at home and abroad.

TVU One admits it H.265/HEVC encoding with the IS+ (Inverse StatMux+) technology, owned by TVU, which enables stable IP transmission at higher bit rates with sub-second latency. In addition, the TVU One has integrated 5G modems with 4K/HDR support.

The video equipment distributor Star Communications K.K., based in Tokyo, provided prompt and effective support to MBS.

“We have been very impressed with the ease of remote operation,” says Kusanagi, by MBS. "Our on-site camera crew just has to turn on the power, and the rest of the production is done from headquarters. Our reporters can travel and broadcast from anywhere, and we don't need them behind a desk in a studio to reliably deliver our coverage. The quick start-up time, convenience and high quality of the broadcast were the deciding factors for us choosing the TVU ecosystem."

MBS has used its TVU Networks system for coverage from Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. Transmissions have come from mountains more than 3,000 meters high and from ships on the high seas.

With this deployment, all its news gathering and program retransmission activities will be carried out through the TVU ecosystem."
