Berto Romero makes the leap to the horror genre with The other side, an original series of Movistar Plus+ in collaboration with The Terrace (The Mediapro Studio) which is already being filmed in Barcelona.

Javier Ruiz Caldera y Alberto de Toro direct the six episodes of The other side, a series that ghosts that seeks to find a balance between comedy and horror con Sergi Vilanova to photography. Berto Romero creates, stars and sign the script of fiction, which will premiere in Movistar Plus+ throughout 2023. They shield him in writing tasks Rafel Barceló and Enric Pardo, with whom Romero has already signed Look what you've done.

Berto Romero (Look what you've done, El Pregón, Time later, Eight Catalan surnames) heads the main cast, which is completed by Andreu Buenafuente (The Proclamation, Some Time Later), Eva Ugarte (Look what you've done, The Game of Keys), María Botto (Emperor Code, Malnazidos), Nacho Vigalondo (Poison, Path, Open Windows), Albert García (Rebooted), María Pascual (dog love) and the very young Hugo Morenilla (Camp Newton, A Man of Action).

This is how it transfers Romero the challenges of The other side: “This series is technically much more complex than it was Look what you've done. We have two directors to make a similar format: six episodes of about thirty minutes long. A priori, comedy and horror go well together because they produce spontaneous reactions, laughter and scares produce spasms, and it seemed to me that there was something interesting in the hybridization of these two genres. It's not something I invented, but I was interested in taking it a little further and trying to get them to coexist much more. Go one step further with two more radical emotions.”
