Virtual study in URJ with TSA

Telephone Audiovisual Services carries out the supply, installation and integration of a new HD digital television studio with system Aximmetry y Unreal Engine (Epic Games) at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Campus of Madrid-Vícálvaro of the Rey Juan Carlos University.

The URJC has relied on TSA to continue improving its technical facilities, after the renewal project of two of its television studies undertaken in 2020.

One of the main systems that are incorporated into the new study is the graphics and augmented reality system Aximmetry+Unreal. Aximmetry is used as Engine of Renderization and Chroma Keyer and train the URJC Audiovisual Laboratory to perform advanced 3D graphics with a 2D/3D rendering in real time, build interactive scenes or effects using a logic based on nodes and integrate any study camera monitoring device. In addition, it receives deep information to be able to make an authentic mixture of both real and virtual elements.

On the other hand, thanks to Unreal Engine Graphic Engine It is possible to create virtual ambuents with maximum realism, simplicity of creation, and an unbeatable treatment of lights, shadows and reflexes.

With the aim of achieving a Perfect synchronization in augmented reality, all this set is complemented by an absolute positioning system for assembly in cameras, cranes, pedestals and Engs to the shoulder, based on the mapping of retroreflective stickers, gyroscopes and accelerometers that allow to obtain tracking data from the axes of zoom, focus, bread and tilt of the different types of camera.

Within the new study equipment, TSA has supplied a image capture system consisting of Three study cameras, one by hand and another robotic, next to their corresponding optics, full -served remote control kit, tripods and crane. In addition, a virtual ciclorama endless in “U” with plastic paint Chroma Key green with which to work with the entire virtual system.

Among the rest of the teams that complete the new virtual study of the Rey Juan Carlos University, are a video matrix that supports all types of signals such as SD-SDI or HD-SDI, video mixer with a wide range of options for creating professional quality content for operators, two multipurpose monitors, audio table, intercom system and two return monitors on the set. All this with the objective that the URJC has a completion control completely in HD.
