‘As Bestas’ and ‘Apagón’, big winners of the 28th edition of the Forqué Awards
Los 28 Forqué Awards they leave a record led by The Beasts as best feature film and Blackout as best fiction series, thus beginning a race towards a Goya in which the Best Film award will be more disputed than ever.
Beyond the recognition of Best Fiction and/or Animation Feature Film y Best fiction series, both productions have won a second prize: that of Best Male Performance to Denis Ménochet for his role in The beasts and that of Best Male Performance in a Series to Jesus Carroza by Blackout.
In the acting section, Laia Costa also went on stage to collect the award for Best Female Performance for his work in Five Little Wolves. Furthermore, the film has won the Cinema and Education in Values Award, an award that the director Alauda Ruiz of Azúa He was especially grateful: “It is very exciting to receive this award from those who bring stories forward.”
Monica Lopez He closed the list of acting awards, taking the Forqué to the Best Female Performance, which Jorge Coira picked up on his behalf, with his first nomination for his role in the series Rapa.
The record of the Forqué was completed with the Best Documentary Feature Film, which has taken him Labordeta, a man without more by Paula Labordeta and Gaizka Urresti; Best Latin American Feature Film, a category in which the victory of Argentina, 1985 by Santiago Miter, and the Best Cinematographic Short Film: ropes, by Estíbaliz Urresola.
Tribute to Verónica Forqué and gold medal to Jose Luis Bermúdez de Castro
The presence of Veronica Forqué has been a constant during the gala of the Forqué Awards, with intense reminders of The Consortium, who had some words for the actress, “a magnificent person,” or Ana Torroja, which highlighted this tribute to “a free soul who wanted to fly before its time,” to which were added the emotional words of Antonio Resines y Silvia Abascal, close friends of the interpreter. For his part, the producer Eduardo Campoy reminded José María Forqué, whose birth will be one hundred years old in 2023.
Enrique Cerezo was in charge of delivering the Gold medal, honorary award that EGEDA awarded annually to recognize the work of industry professionals, to José Luis Bermúdez de Castro. Cerezo praised the career and work of the producer, who has worked with Sergio Leone, Mariano Ozores, Fernando Fernán Gómez, Javier Aguirre, Eloy de la Iglesia and many others, in more than a hundred films and which has featured in its productions performers such as Concha Velasco, Carmen Maura, Lina Morgan, Analia Gade, Angela Molina, Nadiuska, Pajares, Esteso, Martes y 13, José Sacristán, Arturo Fernández or Antonio Ozores. For his part, the honoree expressed his gratitude upon receiving the Gold Medal and the importance that “the infinity of awards” that he has experienced with the films in which he has participated has had for him: “The reward has been seeing the public that has paid their ticket and decides to demonstrate laugh or cry.”
