ARRI continues to expand its lighting business with the acquisition of Clay Paky
Clay Packs, an Italian manufacturer that provides lighting solutions for environments such as television, theater or live events, has been purchased by ARRI.
Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Serious (Bergamo, northern Italy), Clay Packs has a long history which includes a large number of original and innovative products, like moving body and moving mirror projectors, color changers, followpots, projectors and diverse lighting effects, many of which have won awards and been used in highly prestigious projects.
To ARRI, employees and the brand Clay Packs They are “invaluable assets and key success factors”, so the Italian firm will remain with its current configuration and staff structure and locations. The same applies to ARRI, whose lighting division will remain as before.
Matthias Erb, president of the executive board of ARRI, emphasizes that, thanks to this incorporation, the company “will become a leading lighting solutions provider with top-of-the-line brands for both the film and live entertainment markets.”
At the same time, Marcus Grasser, CEO of Clay Paky, states that the firm is “very happy” to start a new stage together with the German company: “With ARRI, we will continue to work on our vision of creating the best lighting equipment and services, while offering first-class reference products to an even broader customer base.”
