Riedel continues to firmly invest in IP with the acquisition of SDNsquare

SDNsquare, a provider of software-defined networking solutions for IP-based multimedia installations, has been acquired by Riedel.

With this movement, Riedel seeks to continue investing in technological knowledge around the growing business of live IP infrastructures and networks. More specifically, the German firm delves into the field of orchestration of IP networks in real time and the SDN control (software-defined networking), thus enriching its growing range of video solutions.

Rik Hoerée, CEO of the products division of Riedel, define a SDNsquare as an “innovative” company when it comes to the “orchestration of software-defined networks in the media.” Hoerée shares that Riedel is excited to welcome the SDNsquare team, as well as “integrate their technology into our future products, and grow their capabilities to help make IP simple for our customers.”

For its part, Henry Alexander, CEO of SDNsquare, has confirmed that the SDNsquare team will integrate with the R&D division and customer success, as well as continue working from its offices in Ghent (Belgium). From that location SDNsquare has been able to bring its IP technology to numerous IP-based projects in sporting events such as the Tokyo Olympics, Roland Garros or the European Athletics Munich.
