The Galician Audiovisual Cluster will launch several projects financed by Next Generation funds
A total of 441,695 euros of Next Generation funds from the European Union has received the Galician Audiovisual Cluster to carry out several projects that will contribute to the development of audiovisual works and innovation in the sector.
These are the TILGAL, MEDRETIA and I+P, INCUBA projects, the first two submitted to two calls for the aid program for Innovative Business Groups (AEI) of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and the third to the recently created call for aid to laboratories and incubators of audiovisual projects of the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
ACCESS
The TILGAL project, Automatic Galician Transcription and Subtitling Tool, has been developed together with the partner companies Adivina Producciones, Corporación Radio Television of Galicia (CRTVG), Setemedia Audiovisual Productions y audiovisual voice, as well as Multimedia Technologies Group (GTM) of the AtlanTTic research center of the University of Vigo and the company imaxin|software. This initiative made it possible to validate the current state of automatic speech recognition technology for the production of subtitles for audiovisual products in Galician.
The project was financed by the Ministry of Industry through the AEI support program to contribute to improving the competitiveness of the Spanish industry, in its second call in 2021, from which it obtained 26,532 euros from European funds. And it has the collaboration of the General Secretariat of Linguistic Policy of the Xunta de Galicia.
TILGAL is part of the strategic line of innovation and digital transformation, within the Cluster's Strategic Plan for the period 2022-2025, which seeks a double objective, on the one hand, to promote collaborative innovation projects within the Galician audiovisual sector and, on the other, technological improvement 4.0.
MEDRETIA
The Cluster leads the project based on artificial intelligence techniques MEDRETIA for the development of predictions from multi-sector data, and determine an intelligent system for predicting success (audiovisual) and sales (textile) of the monitored products, allowing companies to anticipate market needs based on historical data from previous seasons.
Companies also participate in this project CRTVG, Duacode y Selmark, he Technological Institute of Galicia (ITG) and the Association for the Digitalization of Industry of Galicia, Digital Galicia.
MEDRETIA is funded by the Ministry of Industry, through the support program for Innovative Business Groups (AEI), and is a beneficiary, in its second call in 2022, of an aid of 141,084 euros.
I+P INCUBA
Regarding R&P, INCUBA is the new incubator for film and television projects of the Cluster that has just celebrated its first edition. This is an incubation program and pitching platform where professionals and companies participate that have previously passed a selection process, and whose objective is the incubation and significant improvement of six audiovisual projects in the development phase through mentoring, webinars and consulting.
This project was the beneficiary of 250,000 euros in aid from the ICAA, through its call for aid to laboratories and incubators of audiovisual projects, for the 2022 and 2023 editions.
virtual set
Furthermore, the Cluster's portfolio of projects to qualify for European funds includes an initiative for the implementation of various digital infrastructures and services that will contribute to improving the competitiveness of Galician audiovisual production, among which is construction of a virtual set.
Obtaining European funding for this new set, promoted and co-financed by the Deputation of Coruña and in which the Cluster participates, was channeled through the call for aid for the creation or improvement of digital ecosystems in the audiovisual sector, from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation within the framework of the PRTR, from which it benefited from 5 million euros.
The new studio, which will house the ICT City of A Coruña, will allow you to create content that is applicable in the cinematographic, television, advertising or video game fields.
