Carmen Amores (CMM) succeeds Francisco Moreno as head of FORTA
The Federation of Autonomous Radio and Television Organizations or Entities (FORTA) has elected as president Carmen Amores García, general director of Radiotelevision of Castilla la Mancha (CMM).
Loves will replace Francisco Moreno, sole administrator of RTVC, as agreed at the last FORTA General Meeting, which took place in Madrid. The General Board of FORTA has highlighted and congratulated the work developed in these last six months by Moreno as president of the Entity, a marked period among others for the approval of the General Law of Audiovisual Communication. Likewise, he has stressed the importance of continuing to work to value the democratizing and didactic work of regional public radio and television, while the digital transformation and the innovation of the organizations charge a greater prominence.
Carmen Amores She has a degree in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed a master's degree in Management Development of the IESE Business School, from the University of Navarra. His professional career has always been linked to the media, both public and private, including Antena 3, Canal Plus, Regional Television Castilla La Mancha, Grupo Vocento and Canal Sur, among others. The new president of FORTA is one of the oldest members of the Madrid Press Association (APM) and, in addition, is part of the board of directors of Academy of Television and Audiovisual Sciences and Arts since December 2022, an organization that in 2017 awarded him the “Talent Award” for his recognized professional work behind the cameras.
Loves, who assumes the presidency of the Federation for the second time after passing in 2017 “with enthusiasm”, has shared what he considers to be the main challenges that public radio and television will address in the nearest future: "We are in a moment of change for regional public radio and television, marked by digitalization and innovation. That is why we must continue to focus on offering a close and truthful information service, while our channels adapt to on-demand content to get closer to a younger audience."
