The Belgian RTBF renews its streaming platform Auvio with Red Bee Media and Dotscreen
The joint solution of Red Bee Media y Dotscreen to offer high-quality OTT and live streaming services with an improved user interface has enabled Radio-télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF) boost its recently relaunched Auvio platform.
The platform will allow you to manage OTT services with live TV and radio, Audio on Demand (AOD) and Video on Demand (VOD) capabilities.
As part of the project, Red Bee Media has partnered with Dotscreen, a European agency specializing in the design and development of user interfaces and multi-screen applications, which enhances the Auvio user experience with an optimized user interface.
RTBF is the public broadcaster of the French-speaking community of Belgium, which broadcasts its content through 32 radio stations and 21 television channels different, recorded radio stations or event channels on its Auvio streaming service, reaching four million viewers across most major devices and operating systems. Besides, Auvio offers up to 180 live events per day, and its growing library includes 270,000 audio and video assets.
RTFB wanted to renew its streaming platform with a new user interface, simplified navigation and additional video and audio functions. To deliver these cutting-edge features while ensuring seamless integration with its existing technology infrastructure, RTBF needed a partner to provide a fully managed solution with end-to-end responsibility for delivery, storage and management.

Taking advantage of a series of OTT capabilities Through the Red Bee Pulse service, RTBF offers live and on-demand content to Auvio users on a wide variety of online platforms and applications, including web browsers, iOS mobiles, Android mobiles, Tizen, and soon Android TV, LG smart TVs, Sony Playstation and Apple TV.
Using the software development kit (SDK) from Red Bee Media, Dotscreen updated all Auvio user interfaces on all end-user devices. Together they covered major sporting events in 2022, including the Tour de France, the World Athletics Championships, Formula 1, the World Rally Championship and, most recently, the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Viewership levels for the FIFA World Cup reached 8 million streamstarts, with peaks close to 90,000 concurrent viewers.
