Miguel Yabrudes (disguise): “we help throughout the entire process from start to finish to achieve great storytelling”
Miguel Yabrudes, Chief Creator for the Broadcast Division en disguise, analyzes in this video interview at NAB 2023 the latest creative and technological proposals for graphics, virtual production, extended reality...
In Las Vegas it has premiered its control interface Porta which allows the potential of Unreal Engine to be deployed in all types of applications: from virtual worlds to elements as simple as skirts. Porta integrates deeply with various newsroom, which makes it possible to integrate graphics based on Unreal Engine in traditional workflows. With Porta, users can also draw on pre-existing graphic templates to ensure a consistent look to their programming and stream content with ease and efficiency.
One of the demonstrations that attracted the most attention was the full body tracheal without any type of sensors, which allows talents to focus on creativity and not so much on tracking elements.
Another success story that was highlighted at NAB 2023 is a development for DAZN, a platform that has been implemented for its broadcasts of MotoGP in Spain and green screen virtual studio with three tracking cameras. Every week, DAZN is using Unreal Engine to create all motion graphics for the production, including lower thirds, locators, video splits and full screen graphics, controlled and reproduced through Porta and powered by rendering hardware px de disguise.
Another technology that has surprised those who visited the disguise stand at NAB 2023 is its integration with GhostFrame which allows you to have a virtual set doing frame mapping at 240 hertz. GhostFrame works by displaying more than just the video signal on the LED panel, with different inputs invisible to the human eye. This technology allows professional cameras to capture one or more sets of images while the human eye only sees one.
