The Starlink satellite broadband system now has more than 1.5 million users

Since the first satellites of the constellation were launched Starlink In May 2019, Elon Musk's company has reached 1.5 million subscribers to its satellite services in just 4 years (three years of marketing).

In fact, in recent months, after expanding coverage, it has managed to add more than half a million users from December 2022 to now. The forecasts indicate that it could reach 3 million subscribers before the year ends.

Starlink has increased its satellite dish manufacturing capacity to more than 150,000 units per month, giving access with its new fleet to coverage that would reach between 5 and 10 million subscribers.

Los second generation Starlink satellites that are being launched now will eliminate some of these bottlenecks by reaching a potential 20 to 30 million customers.

Notably, Starlink's low-orbit satellites provide impressively fast connections with ultra-low latency compared to other offerings on the market. This low latency could play a key role in the adoption of this satellite proposal in the broadcast environment.
