63% of households with broadband in the US have at least one connected television

The study, which at the beginning of 2013 only showed 53% of connected televisions, includes any connection from both a smart television and auxiliary devices

According to a study by The Diffusion Group (TDG), 63% of households with broadband in the US would have at least one connected television.

Michael Greeson, president and director of research at TDG, maintains that “although broadband delivery may be slowing due to the maturity of the market, the expansion of broadband-connected televisions continues to grow at a rapid pace with 19 percent in the last year.”

The study, which at the beginning of 2013 only showed 53% of connected televisions, includes any connection both from a smart television and from auxiliary devices such as game consoles or Internet sticks.

In fixed broadband services, the second reason for complaint is the lack of quality of service (for example, due to supply interruptions) and in telephony the poor perception of customer service. Data from the second quarter of 2019 show less user dissatisfaction with service prices (with the exception of electricity prices). The CNMC Household Panel also collects information on the number of complaints. As has been happening in recent years, the service with the most complaints is fixed broadband (15% of users have complained at some point in a year while a year before that percentage was 17%). Regarding the reasons for the complaints, the main complaint is billing problems, which confirms the trend registered in the last waves of the Panel.
