Dolby Music Studio

Audio-Technica Iberia has collaborated with Dolby for creation, in the 30th edition of Sonar in Barcelona, ​​from a Dolby Atmos mixing studio.

It has been an innovative project that aimed to show the process from musical creation to reproduction, also in Dolby Atmos immersive audio, inside a Mercedes car.

Dolby Music StudioFor the creation of this Dolby studio, Audio-Technica Iberia provided a complete system of monitored by SAM de Genelec for a 7.1.4 configuration consisting of: 3 active monitors 8” SAM 8350 for CSF; 4 active monitors 6.5” SAM 8340 for surrounds; 4 active monitors SAM 8330 5” for Overheads; 1 active subwoofer SAM 7380 15” for LFE; and 2 active subwoofers SAM 7370 12” for bass management.

In addition to this impressive studio, visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the best immersive sound inside the cabin of a Mercedes-Benz EQS electric SUV, where they could listen to some of the best and latest music tracks produced and mixed in Dolby Atmos and learn how it translates from the mixing studio to the car.

Immersive electronic music

For electronic music producers, Dolby Atmos opens up a new world of creative opportunities. Electronic music pioneers such as Kraftwerk, William Orbit and Brian Eno are already adopting the new format and more than 16 international music content provider services, including Apple Music, Amazon Music and TIDAL, stream Dolby Atmos. As the demand for immersive electronic music grows, so does the opportunity to change the way this music is created.

Those attending Sónar+D were also able to attend a special session in which an interesting debate took place in which they participated Myles Clarke from Dolby, legendary artist and producer William Orbit, sound engineer Luis del Toro, Lucas Holten from Warner Music and Florian Richter from Mercedes-Benz and in which they talked in depth about electronic music production in Dolby Atmos and how labels are expanding this new format for electronic music fans.
