The Core Fest brings together the most relevant audiovisual entertainment companies
The School of Entertainment Sciences The Core School has held its second edition of The Core Fest Entertainment Industry Festival, a meeting for professionals that was attended by around twenty top-level companies.
Among them, Grup Mediapro, Bambú Producciones, Ánima Kitchent, Glassfrog Productions, Movistar Raiders, Grupo Secuoya, Grupo Planeta and Atresmedia have participated.
During the day, various activities were carried out, such as round tables and talks, such as the one held by Peris Digital, in which he presented a photogrammetry demonstration led by Raul Maqueda. In which, attendees have been shown how a garment or complete wardrobe look can be cloned thanks to artificial intelligence.
In addition to a Speed Meeting with companies specialized in special effects, storytelling creation and eSports; along with immersive experiences in which many of them were carried out through virtual reality in the XR LAB classroom.
Another of the activities that could be enjoyed during the event was a Gaming Test. This project has been conceived by the students of the Video Game Programming master's degree who are part of the PlayStation Talents program that has the support of the Secuoya Group.
At the end of the festival, four awards were presented; the outstanding teacher of 22/23, the best student of this academic year, The Core award and, finally, a recognition of professional career. Those in charge of presenting the awards were the dean of The Core School, María Mercedes Agüero, and Alberto Ribas, director of Business Planeta Formación and Universities Madrid and Valencia.
The winners of this edition have been in the category of Outstanding Student 22-23 for Cesar Dominguez Castro of the Master in Executive Production. This year's featured teacher goes to James Phelan, teacher of the Master in Video Game Programming. The Best TFM Project Award, for Good night in the night made by the students: Diego Castaño, Gema Añonuevo, Mónica Florido, María del Mar García, Raúl Guillén and Ricardo Rodrigo, from the Master in Direct TV Production. The Core award, which sought to recognize the extraordinary contribution to the entertainment industry of the producer of such outstanding works as The Cathedral of the Sea, a Fernan Jaume Banacolocha, CEO and co-founder of the prestigious fiction brand Diagonal TV.
And finally, the award for his professional career has gone to Claudio Biern Boyd, a benchmark in the animation industry in Spain, for works that are part of our childhood such as Los Mosqueperros, David the Gnome or Willy Fog, among others. As it is a posthumous recognition, his son, Carlos Biern, collected the award.
