The EU and the United Kingdom give the green light to the use of 6GHz frequencies in Teradek Bolt 6 equipment

Opening a new era of low-interference, zero-delay wireless connectivity for European productions, the European Union and the United Kingdom have officially approved the 6 GHz frequency band for use in Bolt 6 series of products. Teradek.

Existing Bolt 6 users can now take advantage of the full potential of their systems with a firmware update free, immediately enabling operation in the newly approved 6GHz frequency band, while maintaining the cCompatibility with Bolt 4K systems on 5GHz.

The opening of the 6GHz unlicensed spectrum represents a significant leap forward in wireless connectivity, offering users a huge amount of untapped bandwidth, while maintaining full support for Bolt 4K on traditional 5GHz bands.

Bolt 6 can use twelve 40 MHz channels in the 6 GHz UNII-5 frequency band, in addition to the industry-standard 5 GHz channels used by Bolt 4K systems, which doubles the total number of available frequencies in any production environment.

This extensive capacity Dramatically reduces signal congestion in difficult RF environments and increases the total number of transmitters capable of coexisting. Bolt 6 also includes new video quality algorithms and troubleshooting tools. The Bolt can be controlled via Bluetooth with the Bolt app for iOS and Android, which offers a built-in software spectrum analyzer.

6GHz mode is now Available on all Bolt 6 XT and LT models (750, 1500 and MAX) that have been updated to the latest firmware (4.3.4). Users can update their Bolt 6 systems using the app Bolt Manager latest (3.6.31) for Mac and Windows.
