Preestreno de 'Cuéntame cómo pasó' en el Festival de San Sebastián

The iconic series of RTVE 'Tell me how it happened' previewed this Sunday at the 71st edition of the San Sebastián Film Festival the first chapter of what will be its last season, number 23, at a gala at the Victoria Eugenia Theater with its protagonists.

Ana Duato (Merche), María Galiana (Herminia), Pablo Rivero (Toni), Irene Visedo (Inés), Carmen Climent (María) and Paloma Bloyd (Deborah) have not missed the episode screening, along with the director of the series, Óscar Aibar; the director of Film and Fiction of RTVE, José Pastor and the executive producers of Ganga Group, Miguel Ángel Bernardeau and Javier Cuadrado.

The Director of Communication and Participation of RTVE, María Eizaguirre, welcomed the event, pointing out that "this is a very special night for RTVE and for this series that has been accompanying us for 22 years. 'Cuéntame' is part of the history of television and will always be in our hearts. Today we put the finishing touch on the San Sebastián Festival."

“We are going to witness an epic moment in the history of our television,” announced the director of Film and Fiction at RTVE, Joseph Pastor. “We have all identified and experienced the great moments of our history with the Alcántara family, and the youngest of us have learned from our past and our society,” he added.

Along the same lines, the executive producer of Grupo Ganga, Michelangelo Bernardeau, highlighted that the new season "we will relive 7 years in which we will remember what we have been, what we are and where we come from."

The chapter director, Oscar Aibar He has dedicated the episode to all the fans of the series "it is an episode for fans, for those followers who are almost our family now, it is a season that is going to make them very happy."

The chapter projected in San Sebastián is titled Mercedes: the force, and was recorded during the summer in locations in Madrid, Guadalajara, Segovia and Toledo. It begins in 2001, when the Alcántaras meet in Sagrillas for a sad family celebration. The relationship between them is broken, and the origin of the confrontation must be sought in the winter of 1994, when Mercedes undergoes a medical examination that makes her rethink many things. After talking with Antonio, the two of them make a decision that turns the family “upside down.”

RTVE's most watched and awarded fiction series will say goodbye to viewers this season after 22 years on the air with a batch of seven episodes, each of them focused on one of the characters of the Alcántara family: Mercedes, Inés, Toni, María, Antonio, Herminia and Carlos.

The action will take place between 1994 and 2001, and will portray some of the events that marked the end of the last century. Cultural events such as the arrival of the Internet and mobile phones in Spanish homes, and other political events such as the end of the PSOE's dominance in the Spanish government, the birth of the White Hands movement, the cruel murder of Miguel Ángel Blanco by ETA in the summer of 1997 or the attack on the Twin Towers in New York.
