The Teatro Real launches an IP routing, mixing and post-production system integrated by TSA

TSA (Telefónica Audiovisual Services) has been in charge of renewing the audio infrastructure of the Royal Theater, which will allow the cultural institution to expand its creative possibilities and improve audio processing processes.

TSA has developed the project for the arrival of IP based on the design of the needs carried out by the audiovisual department of the Royal Theatre. To carry it out, the Telefónica company has decided to subcontract Abacanto, Spanish distributor of Lawo and specialist in this type of solution that has carried out both field engineering and detailed planimetry.

The project is based on the objective of installing an audio system adapted to the new technological standards This enables us to offer a higher quality service, thus generating installations with greater reliability and redundancy in the event of possible failures, and increasing their compatibility with third-party equipment; all, accompanied by an after-sales service to match.

For routing, signal processing, mixing and distribution, TSA has designed the technical solution with Theirs, with a 100% native audio over IP infrastructure, which distributes all audio resources among all elements of the system. In this way, an IP environment is created, which also communicates with other infrastructures of the Theater and has the possibility of parallel productions from the outside.

Regarding the network infrastructure, we have opted for the manufacturer's electronics Cisco to design a layout Spine & Leaf that contributes redundancy to the installation. Likewise, the project addresses the renewal of all wiring with the installation of a new fiber optic network, including the renovation of the trays and connection boxes in the different functional areas in order to establish interconnection between all the rooms of the building.

The equipment is completed with an Audio post-production system Avid Pro Tools with an input/output interface and audio monitoring processing, which includes a physical control surface, which in addition to recording the signal will allow establishing the path to a immersive audio experience con Dolby Atmos.
