Mediaset once again trusts Unicorn Content for 'The Marquis', its new drama series
South Series has hosted the presentation of 'The Marquis', a six-episode series currently being filmed produced by Mediaset Spain in collaboration with Unicorn Content.
The Marquis takes as its axis the investigation of the murder that took place on the farm Los Galindos on July 22, 1975, when five people were murdered in the Sevillian town of Paradas. The crime, still unsolved fifty years later, serves as inspiration for this fiction of Mediaset Spain through a plot that combines “secrets, ambition, intrigue and romance.”
Ignacio del Moral (awarded the Goya for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Adventures of Tadeo Jones in 2013 and nominated for the Goya for Best Original Screenplay for Mondays in the sun in 2003) and Begoña Álvarez (Disappeared. The series y Shame) are the creators of this dramatic story, produced in collaboration with Unicorn Content, directed by Begoña Álvarez y José Ramón Ayerra (Disappeared. The series y Red Eagle) and with his own script Ignacio del Moral y David Planell (winner of the Biznaga de Oro at the Malaga Film Festival for The shame, his directorial debut, in 2009). The Marquis has the collaboration of the Carmona Film Office and the Sevilla City Office of Media and its main settings are the Andalusian towns of Carmona, Alcalá de Guadaira, Mairena del Alcor, Seville and Huelva, as well as various enclaves of Ceuta, Madrid and Barcelona.
This six-episode series, currently on filming process and of which Mediaset España has offered a first preview today at the South International Series Festival, brings together in its cast José Pastor, Víctor Clavijo, Óscar de la Fuente, Cinta Ramírez, Lara Grube, Paco Tous, Juan Fernández, Joaquín Núñez, Ibrahim Al Shami, Laura Baena and Adelfa Calvo, among other performers.
The Galindos. The whole truth, and true crime on The Marquis
The dramatic fiction will be complemented with The Galindos. the whole truth, and true crime which will analyze in depth the key aspects of the multiple murder that claimed the lives of Manuel Zapata, foreman of the farm; his wife, Juana Martín; the tractor driver Pepe González and his wife, Asunción Peralta; and the tractor driver Ramón Parrilla. Over four episodes, this Mediaset production in collaboration with Phoenix Media, focuses on the police investigation of the case, marked by negligence, irregularities and mysteries, and tries to reveal some of the enigmas of this crime that prescribed 27 years ago without being clarified.
The docuseries, which reinforces the proposal of The Marquis, also welcomes the statements of Juan Mateo Fernández de Córdova, son of the Marquises of Grañina and Valparaíso, who explains what his grandmother and mother revealed to him, a harsh and uncomfortable story with which he attempts to discover the motive and perpetrator of the crime. In addition to this testimony, the documentary includes unpublished testimonies, photographs, reports and evidence that may provide answers to some unknowns that have always surrounded the case.
