Vamp prepares its content for Halloween with Blackmagic cameras

Various cameras Blackmagic, as well as the DaVinci Resolve Studio software, are being used by the production company Vamp Agency (Los Angeles) to produce content focused on Halloween, such as the podcast 'Let's Get Spooky' or the children's program 'The Fiends'.

By producing material not only for YouTube but also for social networks and broadcasters, Vamp's capture requirements range from multi-camera broadcasts standard to shooting images in format vertical for platforms such as Instagram. To face all this content, the actress and producer LeeAnna Vamp opted for Blackmagic solutions. In his own words: "With the amount of social media content I produce, shooting in portrait mode has become more relevant in everyday work. I always wanted to use a more professional camera for this type of material, so I was very excited when this format was added to the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K model."

Vamp Agency stands out for its creative versatility and techniques. For multi-camera projects, such as talk shows, the production team relies on the switcher Atem Mini Extreme ISO, along with the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2, Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro models y Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The latter was the first Blackmagic Design camera that the studio acquired, and it is still used for outdoor shooting: "We have been using the Pocket 4K camera for a while now and we love how easy it is to navigate the different menus, as well as the large touch screen on the back of the unit. The functionality between all the models is one of my favorite things, since you don't have to go searching for settings through different menus on each unit, which makes work and initial setup very quick."

Adding the mixer Atem Mini Extreme ISO has simplified Vamp Agency's post-production process, says Vamp: "With the previous solution, we had to sort material manually before editing. Now, the ATEM mixer creates a project and timeline in DaVinci Resolve, which means there is less to do in post-production, and I can stream more content directly through my channels."

Vamp records in format Blackmagic RAW in order to retain all the chromatic data, which helps maintain the vibrant style of its formats. Whether it comes from a premix or a single camera, Vamp Agency post-produces all its content in DaVinci Resolve Studio: "Today we edit and finish in Resolve, which gives us an incredible range of tools to improve material without having to open and close different programs. I love the ease of grading in the software and I'm always eager to learn new techniques from the exceptional community of Resolve users."
