CRTVG anticipates its technological bets for 2024: OTT, production systems...

Alfonso Sánchez Izquierdo, general director of the CRTVG, has presented the Corporation's budget for 2024 to the Parliament of Galicia: 131 million euros, part of which will go to important technological renovations.

The budget of the CRTVG reflects an increase in 4.5 million euros compared to the current course, a justified increase in the salary increase in the public sector, but also to an important investment in innovation and technology.

The imminent OTT with which CRTVG seeks to update itself and reach new channels already consolidated in the preferences of viewers will occupy a large part of this budget, since the platform seeks to strengthen itself with an offer of online content “in the manner of current international digital platforms.” In this way, Galician public television will allocate an endowment to the content acquisition, a decision that “will greatly benefit the Galician industry.”

This project, as explained by Sánchez Izquierdo, will also require a technological modernization in the CRTVG infrastructure estimated at 1,305,000 euros, which will be invested in the renovation of the digital production system of TVG, as well as in the new production system of Galician Radio.

On the other hand, Televisión de Galicia has confirmed its intention to face the completion of the employment consolidation in 2024, which will mean the stabilization of 100% of the workforce. The budget allocation regarding workers amounts to 57.4 million euros, 1.3 million more than the previous year, thus including the planned salary increase in the public sector (+2.5% salary increase and -0.2% for the end on 31.03). 2023 of the 1st program Experience in Public Administration).
