Madrid Film Office returns to Ventana Sur to promote Madrid as a filming location
South Window, a Latin American audiovisual content market that will be held in Buenos Aires until December 1, will once again have the presence of the Madrid City Council through Madrid Film Office.
Organized by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and the Film Market – Cannes Film Festival, Ventana Sur annually brings together more than 3,000 professionals from different sectors of the audiovisual industry with the aim of promoting the co-production, financing and international distribution of Latin American content.
Madrid Film Office returns for the second year to this event to highlight Madrid as audiovisual filming scene, promote the projects developed in the city, foster relationships between Madrid and Latin American audiovisual industries (especially in the field of co-productions) and highlight the offer of display tourism developed in Madrid.
The presence of Madrid Film Office in Ventana Sur is completed with the organization of two round tables scheduled with producers and institutional representatives of the sector. Thus, on Tuesday, November 28, the table will take place at 4:00 p.m. (local time in Argentina) What is happening in Madrid? Measures, aid and initiatives to support the audiovisual sector, in which the main lines and initiatives that, from the public administration and in collaboration with the private sector, have been launched in recent years with the aim of promoting audiovisuals in Madrid will be put on the table. The panel will feature the participation of Raúl Torquemada, director of Madrid Film Office; Gonzalo Cabrera, general director of Cultural Promotion of the Community of Madrid; Samuel Castro, director of Iberseries and Platino Industria; Carlo D'Ursi, producer and president of the Madrid Audiovisual Association (AMA), and will be moderated by Nacho Carballo, advisor to the Audiovisual Industries of the Community of Madrid.
The second meeting, Madrid as a bridge for co-production with Spain: the case of Adiós Madrid, will take place on Thursday, November 30 at 1:30 p.m. In it, we will talk about the consolidation of Madrid in recent years as one of the main production centers in Europe and an undisputed bridge for co-productions between the Spanish and Latin American industries. It will especially discuss the opportunities that Madrid offers for co-production, taking as an example the project Adiós Madrid, recently directed in the city by Diego Corsini with the production of Madco (Spain) and Cineworld (Argentina). Gustavo Otero and Luciano Cáceres, producer and actor of the film, respectively, will participate in the table; María Victoria Alcaraz, general director of International Cultural Cooperation of the City of Buenos Aires; Carlo D’Ursi, producer and president of the Madrid Audiovisual Association (AMA); Gonzalo Cabrera, general director of Cultural Promotion of the Community of Madrid, and Raúl Torquemada, director of Madrid Film Office, who will also moderate the meeting.
