Mo-Sys - Free objective lens library - Virtual production

The lens files library Mon-Sys, key to the correct functioning of virtual production, has been made available to the film community for free.

By facilitating free access to your lens file library, Mo-Sys aims to actively facilitate a collaborative virtual production ecosystem. Through it, creators can contribute to and leverage a growing pool of lens archives, eliminating the need to start from scratch. They are also encouraged to return newly retouched files to the library, thus fueling a shared resource and accelerating the democratization of VP across the sector.

This commitment to community autonomy goes beyond the library of lens files. The availability of Mo-Sys remote and on-site training and support services remains unchanged, ensuring creators have the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the VP landscape. The company is also further developing its tool Lens Tweaker to dramatically speed up the lens pairing process, making it even more accessible and intuitive.

Michael Geissler, CEO of Mon-Sys, considers that "Accurate lens simulation is the cornerstone of an amazing VP. Each lens has its own properties and reproducing them in the virtual camera is crucial to obtain credible results. Traditionally, this required starting with a lens file from a paid library and then painstakingly adjusting it to match the real-world lens being used." “Now we eliminate that barrier to entry,” highlights the company manager.
