Noa facilitates the digitization of all Moravian Library audio files
MZK, the second largest library in the country, needed to upgrade its equipment to ensure the systematic digitization of its media archive.
The Brno Morava Library, Moravian State Library (MZK), in the Czech Republic, has recently modernized its facilities with archiving and digitization solutions Noah.
MZK, the second largest library in the country, needed to upgrade its equipment to ensure the systematic digitization of its media archive.
To meet the requirements, the institution received a Noa system for the ingestion of audio tapes, historical records and CDs. In addition to managing a collection of more than four million books and a vast repository of historical documents (digitization and publication is a core task of the library), MZK also archives historical and contemporary musical productions.
Petr Zabička, associate director at MZK, comments that "our organization was looking for the most effective archiving solution that would ensure the systematic digitization of our legacy media archive for the preservation of historical recordings and contemporary productions. NOA's solution met our needs and is now being integrated into our current environment, allowing efficient interaction between the two systems."
In August, Noa delivered NOARecord for the transfer of audio tapes and historical record recordings. It also installed the N7000c hardware audio interface and CDLector for CD ripping in combination with NOA MetadataFinder to enrich captured CDs with track information from multiple sources, all within the NOA jobDB workflow orchestration system environment. The installation was carried out in two studios.
Manuel Corn, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at NOA.
Manuel Corn, vice president of global sales and marketing at Noa, highlights that "the Moravian Library in Brno is our first client in the Czech Republic and the first of our clients to adopt this type of solution that allows integration with an existing library. Thanks to the NOA jobDB workflow orchestration system, the processing of existing data sets for audio carriers is possible through simple file-based interfaces, allowing NOA MetadataFinder to collect CD track data not only from from the text on CDs and online resources, but also from the library's existing database.
NOA completed the installation of MZK, its first customer in the Czech Republic, at the end of August.
