BBC commissions Memnon to digitize its extensive legacy of audio archives
More than 115,000 audio tapes from the BBC's historical archive will be digitized by 2025 thanks to a three-year contract signed with I don't remember.
BBC Archive Technology & Services for the migration of thousands of audio tapes both in quarter inch as DAT passing the information into a file-based format.
Memnon knows well the migration complexities of risk content from legacy media to file-based formats and was selected through a bidding process. The company's in-house media operators have the knowledge to operate, maintain and repair legacy tape format machines, and are experts in designing complex cloud-based content workflows and modern media management.
